ALTERED FREQUENCIES: Conscious Breath + Live Sound Journey

  • The Mandrake Hotel 20-21 Newman St, London W1T 1PG (map)

With Brenna Duncan + Michelle Cade

Altered Frequencies is an immersive journey through breath, body and sound, created by breathwork practitioner Brenna Duncan and electronic music producer, DJ, vocalist and sound practitioner Michelle Cade.

Designed to take you out of your head and back into your body, the experience moves from energising breathwork into an expansive live sound journey. As the breath builds, tension begins to shift, the mind quietens and you’re invited to let go of whatever you’ve been carrying.

Then comes the release. The breath softens, you lie back and sound takes over. Michelle’s distinctive approach brings together live instruments, voice, nature soundscapes, binaural and monaural beats and original samples, creating layers of sound that move around and through you.

What begins with breath gradually gives way to stillness and deep rest. A chance to switch off, reset and leave feeling lighter, clearer, deeply relaxed and more connected to yourself.

Expect to leave feeling lighter, clearer, deeply relaxed and a little removed from the world you walked in from.

WHAT TO EXPECT

The journey begins with gentle movement to help you land in the body, before settling onto the mat for a 40-minute Conscious Connected Breath practice guided by Brenna. Rhythmic breath is supported by acupressure and bodywork, with music curated and mixed by Michelle accompanying the journey.

As the breath settles, sound takes over. Michelle leads a 40-minute live sound journey, allowing the body to rest and integrate as layers of sound and frequency unfold around the room.

No previous breathwork or sound experience is needed. Whether this is your first experience or your fiftieth, you will be guided throughout.
